I think I've finally detected my issue. Even as a +1 player, I have lots of lag at P5 but very little by P6 delivery position which of course causes an inconsistent impact. My bent lead arm must straighten on the downswing and throws the lag out. Thank you

Excellent job Alistair on telling us about the importance of the trail elbow. Since I have started paying attention to my trail elbow position and the use of my right shoulder, my ball striking has really improved. The Pete Cowens reverse hands drill that you eluded to, is one that I do. Well Done As Usual Alistair!

I discovered this on the range. I went from a 90 to a 76. All due to trusting the move you explained in the video. Definitely will make you a much better and consistent ball striker. That plus believing in yourself and staying patient/not adding pressure to yourself makes for much better scores and ball striking

I saw Lee Treviño on three different occasions in his prime. Yes, the sound of him hitting the ball was very distinctive - undeniably, a sign that the ball was well compressed, hit solidly, and launching off the club face like a rocket. You could hear this sound even when well away from where he was swinging the golf club and you knew it was him because it was so distinctive. It was a sound I will never forget.

Excellent video Alistair on how to "jump start" the golf swing! It appears to me that you are using a "forward press" by the use of your movement to the left leg to start your takeaway! I tend to use the off fashioned "forward press" via a very supple forward movement of the hands and arms. Both of which keep a person from making a "frozen" start of a takeaway. In golf, as in all sports, one has to keep moving as well! Well Done Alistair!! Keep up the good work!!

Very funny stuff - millions of years of evolution for men to club things with their dominant side in order to eat and survive dismissed. Hilarious!!! Just swing out to the right with the right side and club the little ball while striking the ground directly under it with the sole of the club. . It is easy - It is natural - It is what evolution built into us.

My game has improved pretty quickly since following you, but I have been having problems taking my divot after the ball when doing drills from your website series. Among other things this video has shown me that my ball position was too forward in my stance; by moving it closer to the middle, my divot position has moved to on or beyond the ball. Wish I would have discovered you sooner!

Should one include the slide move with the pump drill? It seems to me bending the torso that low invites hitting behind the ball.

Great lesson! Your "Lag" video helped me to stop rushing my downswing by pushing arms & handle outward (& also added distance.) But today I felt really rushed on the downswing with driver & could not stop it. After watching this video, I realized that I started the downswing from the ground up - feet knees, hips, torso/ribs, shoulders. Just took several swings rotating torso/ribs - lots of time to start the downswing. Thank you again, Alistair!

Alistair, Love your videos! Recently I went through a period where almost all my of pitch shots went 45 degrees to the right. After watching some of your full-swing videos, I realized that my back swing was all arms with no body rotation. I found that by correcting this - rotating upper body on the take-away & cupping my right (trail) wrist on the down swing, my pitch shots improved. Does this make sense? Also enjoyed the short game videos. Thanks.

Very interesting approach to those short shots, never quite heard it explained like this! When you were explaining 1==>5(High Shot), I was thinking 'Thumbs Down ==> Thumbs Up' , 5 ==>1(Low Shot) - 'Thumbs Up ==>Thumbs Down' and 3==>3(Medium Shot) 'Thumbs Up ==>Thumbs Up'............Brilliant Alistair! Makes it nice and simple. Oh and 1==> 1 -'Thumbs Down ==> Thumbs Down', In short I'm thinking in terms of thumbs not numbers, but that's just a personal thing. Of course lie and ball position and club face position will affect shot trajectory as well. I think you're onto something here, cheers.
